Satish Gupta

Satish Gupta, an artist of extraordinary versatility, hails from New Delhi and was born in 1947. His remarkable journey includes roles as a painter, sculptor, poet, writer, printmaker, muralist, designer, calligrapher, and ceramicist, showcasing an extraordinary range of talents and a boundless artistic repertoire.

Gupta’s artistic odyssey took him to the heart of creativity, the city of Paris, in 1970, where he delved deep into the world of graphics on a prestigious scholarship. His works are renowned for their profound meditative quality, where the artist becomes both an active participant and a detached observer in the journey of life. With a career spanning more than 37 solo exhibitions at prestigious galleries both within and outside India, Gupta’s artistry has left an indelible mark. His work has graced renowned platforms like the Venice Biennale, Art Laguna, Arsenal, and The Deborah Colton Gallery in Houston.

Gupta’s artistic genius extends to sculpting the Utsav Murti of ‘Ling Bhairavi’ for Sadhguru’s Isha Ashram in Coimbatore, and his literary prowess shines through in his book ‘Zen Whispers.’ His remarkable exhibition, “Roaring Sea — Still Mind,” showcased an array of his grand sculptures, paintings, and calligraphic works at The Visual Arts Gallery at The Indian Habitat Centre in Delhi in 2019, making waves across Los Angeles and Gallery Falkenstern Fine Art in Germany in 2020.
