Based in New Delhi, artist Gayatri Sekhri finds her muse in the delicate dance between materiality and form.

In the realm of creativity, versatility is a hallmark, and Sekhri epitomises this spirit as a quintessential millennial. Initially embarking on a career as a corporate lawyer, she thrived in a comfortable role. However, an inner yearning for innovation propelled her to make a pivotal shift. Thus, in 2014, she co-founded Pomegranate Design marking the inception of a comprehensive design, build, and turnkey venture. Swiftly, Sekhri’s work garnered attention within the right circles, leading to a surge of requests for installations in public spaces such as hospitals and corporate offices.

Her chosen mediums of fibre resin, bronze, and steel serve as extensions of her creative expression. Among them, fibre resonates with her most profoundly, offering a ballet of lightweight flexibility and effortless manoeuvrability. While bronze exudes a captivating allure, its weightiness and logistical challenges in installation prompt Sekhri to advocate for the use of fibre for grander compositions, reserving the bronze embrace for more intimate creations.
