Bose Krishnamachari

Bose Krishnamachari studied at the Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai before completing his Master’s in Visual Art Theory and Practice from Goldsmiths College, University of London. In 1992, he also taught at the J.J. School of Art. As an artist and curator, Krishnamachari’s diverse artistic practice spans bold abstract paintings, figurative drawings, sculpture, photography, and multimedia installations. Despite this stylistic variety, his work consistently critiques power structures within the art world and contemporary society at large.

In addition to his roles as an artist and curator, Krishnamachari is an avid art collector. He served as the Artistic Director and Co-Curator of India’s first Biennale, the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in 2012, and as the Director of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in 2014. He is also the President of the Kochi Biennale Foundation. Krishnamachari’s works are highly esteemed, residing in numerous museum and private collections both nationally and internationally.
